Chairman of Da Nang People's Committee Huynh Duc Tho has recently signed a decision approving a project to expand Software Park in the Central coastal city.

The decision is aimed to realise the target set by the Decision No 1967/QD-TTg dated December 7, 2017 by the Prime Minister about the park’s recognition as a centralised information technology (IT) area; to ensure enough premises for businesses operating in this park in 2020-2025; and to resolve problems raised by businessmen participating the recent ‘Talk of Spring’ program.

As planned, the project will be carried out under the public-private partnership (PPP) format.

Specifically, the allocation of public investment of VND80 billion from the city budget will be conducted in two phases to implement the project.

The first phase of the project is set to start during this year, with the focus on construction of some basic technical infrastructure, including gates, fences, lighting system, fire fighting and prevention, greenery, public transport, and rainwater drainage.

The second phase will be implemented next year, with a six-floor building giving a total floor area of 1,000 sqm will be built. It will feature an intelligent data centre, a display area for IT products, a reception area and meeting rooms.

In term of funding, private investment from organizations and businesses will be poured into constructing software and digital content manufacturing factories, as well as IT service area.

In addition, the city authorities have agreed to spend about VND472 billion from the city budget on building the Centre for Neurological Surgery, Traumatology and Orthopaedics at the Da Nang General Hospital. Work on the hospital is planned to be finished by 2022.

Also, more than VND292 billion from the city  budget will go to deploy the second phase of the cardiovascular centre of the hospital. It will help to enhance the quality of medical examinations and treatment for patients from Da Nang as well as the central region and Central Highlands. The project is set to be deployed from 2018 to 2021.
