Accordingly, the Deputy PM assigned HCMC People's Committee to review and evaluate the general planning for construction in the city, especially District 9, to complete the dossier of local adjustment of the planning. He requested local authorities to ensure that the adjustment will remain the consistency between Long Phuoc ward and other areas.

According to HCMC People's Committee, the upcoming additional planning of the city aims to meet both criteria: being attractive to businesses and socially agreed. The addition of city planning will be more open. HCMC government will issue regulations on planning management, linking planning with the responsibility of head of relevant agencies.

An important point in supplementing the upcoming planning is that the plan must be associated with the HCMC’s resource development. Besides, additional planning also needs an appropriate urban structure in resolving technical infrastructure development issues, ensuring climate change adaptation and flood protection for the city.
