Grab officially launched its second GrabKitchen, in Ho Chi Minh City’s Binh Thanh district, expanding the cloud kitchen model in the city as well as in Vietnam.

Combining understanding of user preferences and tastes, along with analyzing users’ eating habits and behavior and observing regional orders, Grab has gathered together 15 restaurants and bars at GrabKitchen Binh Thanh such as Say Coffee, Rio restaurant, French Bread, BMX Chicken Yummy restaurant, and Chu Chen Porridge restaurant, among others.

People living and working around Binh Thanh and the surrounding areas such as District 1, District 2, and Go Vap district can order quickly, with cost-saving delivery through GrabKitchen on the Grab app. The dishes of all the restaurants and bars at GrabKitchen will be displayed on the same menu, allowing users to order dishes from many of their favorite restaurants on the same order.

Grab is the first platform in Vietnam to introduce the cloud kitchen model, with the first GrabKitchen officially opening last October in Ho Chi Minh City’s Thu Duc district.

Two months on, the model has received positive support from users and partners in Vietnam. In order to continuously increase utility, Grab launched this second GrabKitchen, which is also part of efforts to provide effective business solutions, reduce operating costs for restaurant partners, and increase revenue for driver partners.

Mr. Jerry Lim, Country Head of Grab in Vietnam, said that GrabKitchen is operating well. “We are constantly receiving feedback from consumers as well as restaurants, merchants, and driver partners to continue to improve quality and bring more benefits to all on the GrabFood and GrabKitchen platforms,” he added.

The GrabKitchen model is thriving in Southeast Asian markets, particularly in Indonesia, where there are 50 GrabKitchens. In Vietnam, in the first half of 2019, GrabFood, Vietnam’s leading food delivery platform, posted total transaction growth of 400 per cent, recording average daily processed orders of some 300,000.

The impressive growth of GrabFood in particular and all of Grab’s services in general has constantly motivated the company to launch new solutions and initiatives, constantly spreading Grab’s mission of “Grab for Good”.
