Ministry of Construction to inspect real estate businesses

This year, regular compliance inspections will be implemented on investment and business practices at many big real estate firms, including Mipec, MBLand, Thuong Tinm, Lac Hong, and Eurowindow Nha Trang, the Ministry of Construction (MoC) said.

Accordingly, MoC planned to conduct 90 inspections in different sectors such as planning management, civil and industrial projects, transportation projects, real estate investment, building materials, infrastructure, and anti-corruption.

Chief Inspector of the ministry will be responsible for implementing the inspections and then reporting to the Minister.

The inspections will look at the implementation of housing regulations by many real estate projects that are under construction.

In particular, the inspectorate will put eyes on real estate projects developed by the Military Petrochemical JSC (a.k.a. MIPEC), including Mipec Riverside and Mipec City View in Hanoi. Additionally, the developer will also have other projects inspected: Golden Field and Grand Plaza in Hanoi, and Square Field in Southern province of Tay Ninh.

Meanwhile, an inspection will also be conducted on projects: the N01 T5 high-end apartment complex in Hanoi, Quang Ninh apartment building in Quang Ninh, Kim Boi Resort in Hoa Binh, Tam Dao complex and Ha Tien urban area (phase II) in Vinh Phuc. All of those projects are developed by Lac Hong Investment JSC. 

Also, inspectors will work with Saigon Construction Corporation (SGCC) at its SGCC Building and Soho Premier Binh Thanh in Ho Chi Minh City.

Sacomreal’s projects, including Jamona City, Jamona Heights, Jamona Golden Silk, Carillon 5, TTC Plaza Binh Thanh in Ho Chi Minh City, also undergo MoC’s inspections.

In addition, MoC’s inspectors will carry out inspections on State management in the construction and housing sector. They will look at the licensing process for organisations and individuals in the 2015-2018 period in Hanoi, HCMC, Hung Yen, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Ha Giang, Khanh Hoa, Lam Dong, Binh Thuan and Ninh Thuan. 

In 2018, MoC carried out 93 inspections in the aforementioned sectors. The ministry released 72 inspection results and proposed fines of VND927.5 billion last year.

Besides, MoC also proposed handling the violations of 155 organisations and 235 individuals after its inspections in the previous year.
