Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has approved allocating VND2.186 trillion (US$94 million) to finance the Trung Luong-My Thuan expressway and asked competent parties to accelerate the construction of the project.
The Eastern North-South expressway project includes 11 sub-projects with total length of 654 kilometers running through 13 provinces and cities, of which three will be financed by state budget and eight under the PPP and build-operate-transfer (BOT) financing.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has agreed to use the State budget to partially fund the Trung Luong-My Thuan expressway project to reduce capital recovery time and asked relevant ministries, authorities and investors to quicken the construction progress to meet the opening plan by late 2020.
Deputy Chairman of Ho Chi Minh People’s Committee Tran Vinh Tuyen said the city government will limit spending the state budget for new resettlement projects but call on enterprises to invest in these projects to meet demand of local residents.
Total loan capital for the social housing program this year will be more than VND1.32 trillion, of which State budget will allocate VND663 billion and the remaining will be mobilized by the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP).
