In recent months, prices of houses and lands in some outlying areas of HCMC have risen significantly.
The People's Committee of Phu Thuan Ward, District 7 have just issued a dispatch to warn people not to buy, sell or transfer land in the Venica Garden project by Kim Tay Nam Company on Dao Tri Street.
The committee said there have been online offers from the project on some social websites, but in fact, there is no such project in the area.
Venica Garden Project is said to cover 10,000 sqm, with total 118 land lots asking for just VND 2.8 billion ($121,739) each.
After the dispatch is issued, several websites have removed the information relating to the Venica Garden Project and the Kim Tay Nam Company, and denied their relationship with the project.
Meanwhile, authorities of Linh Trung Ward in Thu Duc District have also warned about possible scams in the land sale offerings at Residential Group 6 by two local real estates firms, Hoang An Group and Angle Lina Investment Company.
But there were no housing project in that area which lies in the Vietnam National University-Ho Chi Minh City construction project, according to an announcement by Linh Trung Ward People's Committee.
Chairman of the Committee Tran Quoc Hung said: “They invented some residential projects which were offered for sale at low prices to attract customers.By doing this they are cheating people who lack information about the projects.”
Director of Angel Lina Investment Company Nguyen Ba Thi explained they were building a detailed plan for the construction of a housing project in Residential Group 6 and would file for approval from local authorities soon, Lao Dong newspaper reported.
In addition, authorities of Phu Tho Hoa Ward in Tan Phu District have also found a land plot of over 4,000 sqm which has been planned to build a public park were recently being advertised for sale.
