Chairman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee Ho Quoc Dung said the province would take comprehensive solutions to boost industrial development and accelerate the progress of various projects like Quy Nhon beverage factory, expansion of Vinamilk Quy Nhon milk factory, along with some renewable energy projects.
Besides, Binh Dinh will also complete procedures to start development of the Becamex Binh Dinh industrial-urban-service complex.
In the second half of this year, Binh Dinh plans to focus on its major projects.
The province approved investment for 20 new projects in the first half of the year, with total capital of about VND15 trillion ($645 million), including two foreign-invested ones worth over $72 million in total.
Binh Dinh is now home to 78 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects, with a total capital of $724.3 million.
Regarding the tourism sector, Mr Dung said Binh Dinh has seen an annual growth of over 20 percent in the last three years. During H1, the province welcomed more than 2.6 million tourists, an increase of 22.8 percent over the same period last year, including 220,000 foreigners, up 49.1 percent year-on-year. The province’s Quy Nhon City has becoming a rising star among attractive tourism destinations of Vietnam.
The official also emphasized that local authorities have strengthened support to investors in the tourism sector and collaborated with foreign partners in personnel training for the sector.
Binh Dinh recorded gross regional domestic product (GRDP) growth of 6.7 percent to VND24.55 trillion in H1 this year. Its budget collection in the period hit more than VND5.9 trillion, up 54 percent year-on-year.
