Also in an inspection in last September, authorities found the Phu My - Quy Nhon social housing project had 53 illegally-transferred apartments and others violated regulations on the use of social housing. This project is developed by Phu My - Quy Nhon Construction and Investment Company Limited. Reportedly, after the inspection, the developer has recalled 53 illegally transferred apartments to review and sell to other users in accordance with regulations.
According to Le Dang Tuan, Deputy Director of Binh Dinh’s Department of Construction, provincial leaders have asked the project developer to invite owners of social housing apartments who have authorized others to manage, use and rent them to meet the department for resolving violations. These owners are required to use the apartment for the right purpose, terminate the lease of these apartments.
Since July 31, if the owners still fail to comply with the above requirements, the Department of Construction will direct the electricity and water service providers to stop supplying electricity and water apartments, then take back these illegal purchased apartments according to regulations. In addition, in cases where the apartments have been handed over, if the owners do not put them into use within 36 months, the apartments will be withdrawn as prescribed.
