Phong said the city has established four centers as part of the first phase for the 2017-2020 period: a database center at Quang Trung Software City, an urban monitoring center located at the municipal People’s Committee head office, a socioeconomic simulation and forecast center and a network safety and security center.
Moreover, HCMC has been carrying out a pilot project to streamline administrative procedures in districts 1 and 12. The project will later be expanded to the remaining 22 districts in the city.
Besides this, some HCMC departments, including the Department of Transport and the Department of Health, have applied information technology to their management efforts and handling of procedures.
The completion of these components in the first phase acted as the start of the next stage of the project, the municipal chairman added.
The HCMC smart city project will be carried out in three phases, with the second phase in the 2020-2025 period focusing on rolling out smart solutions for certain fields and expanding and upgrading some solutions launched in the first phase. Meanwhile, for the third phase of the project, the city will set new targets and goals.
