According to Yoshimune Odaka, general director of Mikazuki Group, the project of expanding Xuan Thieu tourism area will be financed from a total capital of $100 million. The project will feature a traditional Japanese style.
Covering 12.23 hectares of land and is located at Xuan Thieu Beach (Hoa Hiep Nam ward), one of the most stunning beaches of Danang, the Mikazuki Spa & Hotel Resort project includes high-end villas and an oceanic center, a water park and a five-star hotel, which are expected to be put into service in July this year, June 2020 and April 2021, respectively.
All the hotel rooms will have a sea view. This is the first five-star hotel in Danang Bay.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony for the project, Mikazuki general director Yoshimune Odaka noted this was the corporation’s first overseas investment project.
Odaka said the hotel was designed with a distinct Japanese character and will include a 250-metre swimming pool that is built akin to a glade in a dense forest. There will also be an onsen-style hot-water infinity swimming pool on the top, offering a view from 95 metres above.
Mikazuki is drawing up a plan to build a supermarket in the area to introduce made-in-Japan products to Danang residents, said Odaka.
All hotel rooms feature an outdoor bath on the balcony, and the smallest room will be 69.5 square metres in area. There will also be a one-hectare indoor entertainment complex behind the hotel. The restaurant will serve oriental dishes centred around Japanese tastes, interwoven with European and Asian buffet dishes. The first phase of the project will be put into operation in 2020 and the complete resort complex will include 500 rooms in 2021.
Mikazuki Group is a famous hotel brand from Japan. Currently, the group has four big hotels in Japan, operating more than 1,000 rooms.
Speaking at the ground-breaking ceremony, Le Trung Chinh, Deputy Chairman of the Danang People's Committee, highly appreciated Mikazuki Group's efforts and determination to quickly build the project. The city had been recognized for its healthy investment environment with its efficient infrastructure, high economic growth (7.86% in 2018), young and high-skilled manpower and proactive authorities. Danang is therefore an ideal investment destination for local and foreign investors, according to the Government news website.
Chinh believes that the project will promote tourism, especially resort tourism in Danang, bringing it on par with other coastal areas of the city, while simultaneously creating a new driving force for the development of north-western Danang.
In 2017, Mikazuki founder Yoshio Odaka came to Vietnam to seek investment opportunities and chose Danang due to its beautiful beaches. Mikazuki currently has five large hotels with more than 1,000 rooms in Japan.
Japan currently holds the most foreign direct investment projects in the country, at 177 projects worth US$809 million in total. Japanese investors mainly pour capital into the processing and manufacturing, information technology and communications, real estate and service sectors.
They have contributed significantly to the city’s development and created jobs for some 3,000 workers in the city and neighboring localities.
