VinCommerce aims to own 10,300 supermarkets, stores by 2025
MarketVinCommerce, the consumer retail unit of conglomerate Vingroup, has set a target of running 300 VinMart supermarkets and some 10,000 VinMart+ convenience stores in the country's 63 provinces and cities by 2025.
Auchan’s plan to withdraw from Vietnam draws interest from potential buyers
InvestmentFrench supermarket chain Auchan Retail plans to sell its business in Vietnam after nearly five years of poor operation in the local market. It ill temporarily keep its three HCMC-based supermarkets in service while 15 others will be shut down nationwide. A domestic retailer would acquire Auchan’s business in Vietnam, of which the take-over process is scheduled to start in early June.
