This solar power plant is the first one of its kind in Long An Province to be integrated with the national grid. Located on a land site of 50.2 hectares in Thanh Hoa District, it has an installed capacity of 40.6 megawatt peak.
Work started on the project’s land site in September 2018, with 123,000 solar panels being installed there. As planned, the plant will generate 57 million kilowatt hours of electricity per year, nearly equal to the annual electricity consumption of 22,000 households in Vietnam. Besdies, it is estimated to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by around 16,000 tons per year.
Speaking at the plant’s inauguration ceremony, Chairman of BCG Nguyen Ho Nam noted the plant’s operations followed existing policies. The firm has focused on developing renewable energy projects.
