In its recent report on real estate market in April 2019, Batdongsan.com.vn said apartment prices in HCMC last month increased steadily over the same period of 2018. The average price of apartments in the city reached VND 33.56 million per sqm, an increase of about 12% from VND 30.1 million per sqm recorded last year. Within one year, the average growth rate of apartment in Saigon is about 1% monthly.
HCMC apartment prices are escalating year after year, but on a monthly basis, price increases are quite slow. Survey of Batdongsan.com.vn showed from March to April 2019, the average price of apartments in the city only rose by 0.4%. The average price of apartments in the market depends on the asking price of the newly launched supply.
Earlier, in the first quarter of the year, CBRE Vietnam said the average selling price of apartments in the primary market in HCMC rose 3.1% quarter-on-quarter and increased by 14.9 % year-on-year. The increase is caused by the new luxury projects launched in the first quarter with a record high price from $7,500-12,000 per sqm.
