The board said the entire boardwalk will run from the resort area along the beach to the Cocobay Entertainment and Tourism Complex. Alleyways to the beach between resorts will be also widened to encourage walking.
The first-phase boardwalk was chosen for construction due to its location, with one point near An Thuong Street for tourists. Meanwhile, the other point connects with a path to the beach, which is being expanded.
The alley leading to the beach, between Furama Resort and Ariyana Convention Center on the phase-one street, will be five meters wide.
Aside from alleys to the beach, the project will consist of a small walking park, parking lot, playground for children, sports fields and an automatic hand-washing system.
The remaining sections of the coastal boardwalk will be developed, similar to the first-phase section, including alleys leading to the beach near Premier Village Resort, as well as to the south of Future Property Invest project and in the north to the Danang The Song tourism project.
Representatives of travel firms said that the project will turn the street and surrounding areas into the Miami City of Vietnam, promising to attract more tourists.
However, they also voiced concerns over security issues due to the possibility of street vendors and peddlers harassing visitors, saying that the image of vendors on the sides of alleys leading to the beach will negatively affect tourists.
