Four companies support Non-Carbon Island Initiative for Quang Ngai Province

The Quang Ngai Provincial People’s Committee on November 14 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SK Innovation Co. Ltd, Doosan Heavy Industries, Ingine Company and Vingroup on the Non-Carbon Island Initiative.

Under the MoU, which remains in force until December 31, 2021, each party will assume certain roles and responsibilities.

Following the MoU, Quang Ngai People's Committee will cooperate with and support the parties in the process of surveying and making project proposals; directing functional agencies to guide and support the parties to complete administrative procedures of the project based on the provincial regulations and authority.

SKI will take respobsibility for proposing the non-carbon island initiative and rolling out projects such as the distribution of ecofriendly items for Quang Ngai Province. DHI will actively involve in the "Non-carbon island initiative" of Quang Ngai province on the RO desalination plants. INGINE will provide wave to energy technology for the "Non-carbon island initiative" for Ly Son district.

Vingroup, as a Vietnamese business partner of the "Non-Carbon Island Initiative", will sponsor environmentally friendly vehicles associated with the battery system and charging stations that are manufactured and installed by the VinFast Manufacturing and Trading Company Ltd. - a subsidiary of Vingroup.

This MoU signing ceremony is a further step forward after the meeting with the leaders of Quang Ngai PPC took place earlier on September 24, 2019 on the project of generating electricity from sea waves with the capacity of 100 KW donating for An Binh Islet at about $1 million cost.
