Hanoi considers plans to relocate 13 headquarters out of inner city

Recently, the Vietnam Institute of Urban and Rural Planning (VIUP) proposed three options for relocating headquarters of ministries and agencies out of the inner Hanoi. The estimated budget for each option ranges from VND 12-17 trillion.

In its report to the Minister of Construction, VIUP has proposed 3 options for moving headquarters of ministries and agencies out of the inner city, including:  moving to West of West Lake; to Me Tri Ha; or to both the above-mentioned areas.

For the first option, VIUP proposed moving headquarters of 12 ministries and agencies to West of West Lake. Twelve agencies includes: Planning - Investment, Industry and Trade, Justice, Construction, Transportation, Labor and Social Invalids, Health, Agriculture and Rural Development, Culture, Sports and Tourism, Information and Communication, Education and Training, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee. Headquarter of Vietnam Social Insurance is under construction in Me Tri Ha.

For the second option, headquarters of 12 ministries, agencies and Vietnam Social Insurance were proposed to move to Me Tri Ha, with a total planned area of 55ha, including the entire Me Tri Ha area. Accordingly, the average land area of each agency is 1.8-3 ha, and the remaining area is used to arrange regulating lakes, guest houses, public houses, landscapes, parks. 

Regarding the last option, the 13 above-mentioned headquarters will be moved to West of West Lake and Me Tri Ha. Accordingly, six headquarters will cover a total land area of 20 ha in West of West Lake, each has 2-3 ha and average height of 9-12 floors. Meanwhile, 7 others will be moved to Me Tri Ha, with a total area of 55ha. Average height of each one is 12-15 floors.
