Since 2017, the market price stabilisation programme has been no longer issued, said Ms Le Thi Ai Diep, Head of the Da Nang’s Tourism Department’s Accommodation Service Management
Therefore, accommodation establishments in Da Nang are allowed to adjust the prices of their room rates depending on their facilities, services and human resources. However, accommodation providers are asked to submit their changed prices to the municipal Department of Finance or the district-level authorities for consideration.
Accordingly, hotels are only allowed to apply changed prices after getting approval from the municipal Department of Finance or the district-level authorities and having their changed prices displayed at website https://kekhaigia.danang.gov.vn/.
Most of local accommodation providers do not raise their room rates over the upcoming festival period, Ms Diep added.
She said the main reason is that recent years have seen a tremendous boom in the number of accommodation establishments in Da Nang, leading to a tougher competition between them. “However, some hotels located along the both banks of the Han River which boast favourable position to watch fireworks performances are increasing their room rates by between 20 and 40% above normal days over the forthcoming festival period,” the official pointed out.
General Director of the Viet Nam Travel Mart Company Nguyen Nhu Nam underscored that this year’s festival did not coincide with the long-day break for public holidays, therefore, local hotels and resorts would do not face visitor overload like previous years’ events.
Specifically, inspectors from the municipal Department of Finance and relevant agencies are enhancing their checks over accommodation establishments’ displayed prices between May 20 and July 7.
