According to a report by the Dong Nai government delivered at a meeting of representatives from the National Assembly Economic Committee, the Ministry of Transport and the Dong Nai government on April 23, the province has dispatched 51 officials to Long Thanh District to assist with site clearance.
The provincial government has also sent notice of its intention to take back land to the People’s Committees of Loc An and Binh Son communes and the Dong Nai Rubber Corporation.
The Land Fund Development Center of Dong Nai Province has completed procedures to compensate for half the value of Dong Nai Rubber Corporation’s rubber farm land.
Next month, Long Thanh District will establish eight working teams to measure and calculate the value of land lots used for the international airport project.
The compensation, support and resettlement plan for the Long Thanh International Airport project is expected to be approved late next year, prioritizing the compensation and resettlement of 247 households to make room for the first phase of the project.
As for infrastructure outside the airport, Long Thanh District has reviewed procedures and prepared land use plans to kick off the construction of these related components in the third quarter of next year.
According to Dong Nai Vice Chairman Tran Van Vinh, the province has approved a plan to develop a traffic system linked to the airport project.
The province has proposed the Ministry of Transport seek the prime minister’s approval to take back 81.22 hectares of land assigned to roads No. 1 and 3 and to add road No. 2 to the airport project.
The HCMC-Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expressway project has also been proposed for expansion alongside the approved plan, especially the section from HCMC to Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway.
Deputy Minister of Transport Le Dinh Tho stressed the importance of the project and called for close cooperation between the Dong Nai government and the relevant agencies to execute the project as planned, aiming to put it into operation in 2025.
Meanwhile, Vu Hong Thanh, head of the National Assembly Economic Committee, demanded the construction of traffic infrastructure between Dong Nai and neighboring provinces.
Dong Nai will handle land reclamation, land clearance compensation, support and resettlement, with some 5,000 hectares of land being cleared to make room for the airport and an extra 364 hectares for building two resettlement sites.
The land clearance and resettlement work will cost more than VND22.8 trillion. Of the amount, VND4.1 trillion will be spent on infrastructure development in the resettlement areas; VND479 billion on infrastructure facilities outside the airport; over VND17.8 trillion on compensation, support and resettlement; VND306 billion on vocational training and job generation; and VND27 billion on a feasibility study for the project.
