Government of the Central province Quang Binh have revoked licences of 16 delayed property projects that have high percentages of land occupation.

Reportedly, these projects covers a total land area of 591,000sqm. The local Department of Planning and Investment said the projects were found to be delayed and leaving land in a poor state during an investigation made by the local Department of Natural Resources and Environment in late 2018.

An official named Tran Phong from the department revealed that his department has completed another report on land use violations among other delayed projects in Quang Binh following recent investigations.

The report would be the basis for local authorities to make withdrawal decisions in an attempt to retrieve land occupied by unqualified investors, Mr Phong added.

In addition, the report also recommended withdrawing the licences of nine projects, including those in the healthcare, tourism and trade sectors. They are occupying a total land area of 942,000sqm.

Local authorities are to seek for proper investors and sell the infrastructure of the withdrawn projects including unused buildings on the land.

In a related news, neighbouring province Thua Thien-Hue is now seeking qualified investors for a residential and park project valued VND4.2 trillion ($183 million). It is located in the new urban area An Van Duong, a modern city outside of the Hue ancient citadel. The project, including site clearance work, is expected to last 60 months.
