By 2030, the number of parking lots in the 3 downtown districts of Hai Chau, Thanh Khe, and Son Tra should increase by 86 to reach 128 from the current 42, with the total investment of over VND5.8 trillion VND, said the Technology Development and Investment Consultant JSC (TDIC) Company, which is the project’s planning consultancy unit.

The firm also suggested that the unsuitable parking lots should be demolished and the locations of new ones should be put into careful consideration in a bid to ensure the appropriate distribution of parking lots and satisfy the rising demand for public parking lots of local residents.
Mr Dung requested the project consultants to review and recalculate the exact future parking demand, and re-check the legality of the construction sites expected for the construction of new parking lots.
In addition, the Vice Chairman wanted the relevant agencies and units to implement effective policies to reduce parking demand in downtown areas, seek suitable operation technology for parking lots, and proposing policies for parking fee collection, and identify specific investment methods for each lot.
