The Minister of Transport has just signed the Decision No. 2229 / QD-BGTVT, approving the feasibility study report of Phan Thiet - Dau Giay section, one of investment projects belongs to the North–South highway in the East route period 2017-2020.
According to the approval, the project scale consists of the first point from NH1A to My Thanh (about 2.6km from National Highway 1); the last point links to the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay highway at Km43 + 125.
The length of the route is about 99km (47.5km passing Binh Thuan and 51.5km passing Dong Nai province). The highway is built according to the standard highway A, design speed is 120km/h, scale of 6 lanes, width of the road is 32.25m.
The divergence phase plans 4 lanes of 25m total width. The bridge system consists of 68 bridges, with 18 bridges on the highway, 40 bridges crossing the highway, and 10 bridges in the intersection.
Total investment in the period of divergence is VND14,359.669 billion. Form of investment, type of contract: PPP, type of Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) contract. It is expected to start in 2019, basically completed in 2021. The payback period is about 14 years and 7 months.
The Ministry of Transport is the authorized state agency to sign and execute the project contract. Bitexco Group Co., Ltd is the investor who proposed and made the feasibility study report. Thang Long Project Management Board is the developer during preparation period.
Previously, in May 2018, the Thang Long Project Management Board had submitted to the Ministry of Transport to approve the feasibility study report of Phan Thiet - Dau Giay highway project, belongs to the North-South highway project in the period of 2017 - 2020, developed under the form of PPP with total investment of more than 18,000 billion VND.
By July 2018, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc had approved the policy framework on compensation, support and resettlement investment project to build Phan Thiet - Dau Giay highway.
