In particular, about VND1.304 trillion was from the city budget, while VND1.4 trillion VND from district-level budgets, and the remainder from other sources.
During 2008-2018 period, thirty-one projects on environmental protection and climate change response were deployed in the city. The total costs for these projects were over VND174 billion and JPY56 million with the funds from foreign organizations and enterprises.
In addition, around VND6 billion was spent from the city budget on establishing the Environmental Protection Fund.
Accordingly, the Fund is responsible for calling for domestic investment to implement environmental protection projects effectively in the city.
The Central coastal city has received a number of international and domestic awards thanks to its tremendous efforts.
Notable amongst them are the ASEAN Environmentally Sustainable City in 2011, the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Law-Carbon Emission City in 2012, one of APEC 20 Green-Clean-Beautiful Cities in 2013, and the 'Excellence in City Transformation' award in 2015.
In 2018, Da Nang was officially awarded the title ‘National Capital of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF)’s One Planet City Challenge 2018 (OPCC) programme’.
