According to Director of the provincial Department of Planning and Investment Nguyen Van Quang, the province has focused on attracting large-scale domestic and FDI firms to develop supporting and processing-manufacturing industry.
It has prioritised the production activities that apply high technology and are friendly to the environment, energy-saving, and make large contributions to the local budget.
At the same time, the provincial People’s Committee has directed relevant departments and sectors as well as agencies to strictly implement commitments of the locality towards investors, with greater attention to administrative reform and business environment improvement, especially in the issuance of licenses on investment, construction, environment, and land.
Along with supporting investors in administrative procedures, the province has ensured the supply of water, power and housing services for workers.
Quang said that the province will continue organising dialogues with investors to remove obstacles for them. On the other hand, incentives and land will be withdrawn from investors who violate the law.
Ha Nam will prioritise FDI firms that have close connection with domestic ones, thus facilitating domestic production and creating material supply sources for FDI enterprises, he added.
In 2018, Ha Nam lured 112 new investment projects, including 41 FDI ones with a total investment of 382 million USD.
In the first two months of 2019, the province attracted 12 projects, including 3 foreign-invested ones worth 58.5 million USD.
