The HCMC Department of Natural Resources and Environment has recently made an urgent request to review and make a list of establishments that need relocating since they are not suitable to the city’s urban construction planning for districts 1, 12, Phu Nhuan, Tan Phu and Hoc Mon. Results must be reported to HCMC People's Committee before March 31.
Accoding to the leader of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, idea of the review is based on opinions and suggestions from the Department of Construction and the district-level People's Committees. However, only Districts 5, 6, 7, 9, Thu Duc, Tan Binh and Binh Tan have sent feedback to the Department of Natural Resources & Environment so far.
The official said his department has received many complaints about environmental pollution caused by establishments and enterprises’ factories in Binh Chanh and District 12 in recent times.
According to the Decision No. 6762 dated 26 Dec 2016 by HCMC People's Committee on relocation of production facilities which are not suitable with urban construction planning in the period of 2016-2020, Department of Natural Resources and Environment has issued a document requesting People's Committees of districts 1, 12, Phu Nhuan, Tan Phu and Hoc Mon district to quickly review the establishments in the proposed list, and add relevant information to the list.
Data of the HCMC Department of Natural Resources and Environment shows there are 82 establishments and businesses must be relocated as they are inconsistent with urban construction planning. The task of 12 districts is to have feedback about situation of these businesses, then the department can provide suitable solutions.
