The construction work is set to be implemented in two phases. In particular, the four-lane expressway will be built from HCMC to Moc Bai in the first phase, while it will be expanded to eight lanes for HCMC-Trang Bang section and six lanes for Trang Bang- Moc Bai section in the second phase.

Reportedly, total investment in the first phase is estimated at VND 10.688 trillion ($ 460.6 million).

HCMC and Tay Ninh suggested the Prime Minister to allow them to be the investors of the project, aiming to speed up the contruction of the expressway. Each province also wanted to pay for site clearance with their owned budget.

Specifically, HCMC will spend nearly VND 2 trillion ($ 86 million) and Tay Ninh will pay VND 1 trillion ($ 43 million) for site clearance. The remaining sum of money is set to be financed by other investors via bidding.
