The intersection, which stretches 1.8 kilometers, spans from Suoi Tien Theme Park in District 9 and Thu Duc District to the Binh Thang gas station in Binh Duong Province’s Di An Town.

Construction of the intersection, as part of the expansion project of Hanoi Highway and National Highway 1A, started in April 2016. The project includes a tunnel, two pedestrian bridges and two bridges, 40 meters long and 17 meters wide each, which allow vehicles to turn around.

Nguyen Thanh Nam, a representative of HCMC Infrastructure Investment Company, the investor for the project, noted that the intersection is expected to help address traffic congestion in the eastern part of the city, which sees a high number of trucks, coaches and cars plying the roads every day.
