Expected to cover a land site of 8 hectares in Huong Linh commune, Huong Hoa district, the plant will have nine wind turbins, each with capacity of 3.3-3.4MW. The wind power plan is set to start generating electricity by December 2020.
The local authorities have paid great attention to luring investment in wind power sector. During the first quarter of 2019, Quang Tri granted investment licenses to 4 other wind power projects across the province.
Reportedly, these projects include the construction of the Huong Phung 3 wind power plant in Huong Hoa district, while the Huong Phung wind power Co. Ltd. plans to build the 30 MW facility on a 9-hectare land site, with investment of more than $68.12 million.
Earlier, the GELEX Quang Tri Energy JSC was also approved to invest about VND3.66 trillion ($157.38 million ) into GELEX 1, 2 and 3 wind power plants with capacity of 30 MW each. The three projects will cover nearly 24 hectares in Huong Hoa district and Dakrong district.
