Xuan Tho 1 Solar Power Plant project, which received over VND1.24 trillion in funding, will be built in the town’s Xuan Tho 1 Commune, while the other project in Xuan Tho 2 Commune, named Xuan Tho 2 Solar Power Plant, received over VND1.2 trillion.
In addition, each plant, covering an area of 60 hectares, has a designed capacity exceeding 49 megawatts and is expected to generate some 76 million kilowatt hours of electricity annually.
Phu Khanh Company, the project investor, and other involved parties noted they will work hard to put the plants into commercial service on June 30 this year, as pledged to the provincial government.
Addressing the event, Tran Huu The, vice chairman of the provincial government, stated that Phu Yen has three solar power plants being operational so far, with total investment reaching VND8 trillion, which contributes greatly to ensuring power security in the province.
Further, the upcoming Xuan Tho 1 and Xuan Tho 2 power plants are expected to generate significant revenue for the provincial budget, as well as offer job opportunities to many people.
Data from a study show that Phu Yen enjoys an average sunshine duration of nearly 2,500 hours per year, alongside high solar radiation, making it advantageous to attract clean power projects.
To date, six solar power projects have been approved in the province.
