The US-based luxury and lifestyle travel magazine Condé Nast Traveller has just recognised InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort and JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay as two among the 50 top resorts on the globe following a poll of readers.

These award-winning are developed by Sun Group and designed by famous architect Bill Bensley.

Condé Nast Traveller is considered the most prestigious and reputable award in the global tourism sector. The best resorts have been selected based on the experiences of 429,000 readers at these hotels and resorts.

International quality services

Ranking 15th on the list, InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort is described as a place that makes you feel like you have left the real world, even though it takes only 30 minutes to reach from the airport.

“Spreading over the green hills of the Son Tra Nature Reserve and facing the white sandy beach, the resort was opened in 2012 and quickly became the first choice for a vacation. Additionally, this is also a hit destination for couples and friends who want to enjoy culinary arts and interesting healthcare services.”

Recently, in early September, InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort set yet another record by receiving Asia’s leading luxury resort 2018 title. It is also the holder of four other awards: Asia’s leading green resort 2018, Asia’s leading luxury wedding resort 2018, Asia’s leading luxury hotel villa 2018, and Vietnam’s leading luxury resort 2018.

Apart from paradise-like scenery, InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula boasts international-standard services such as excellent culinary experience catered by world-famous chefs Michel Roux and Pierre Gagnaire, as well as outstanding luxury spa services at HARNN Heritage Spa.

The Readers’ Choice Award of Condé Nast Traveller has also ranked JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort & Spa at the 17th position. The hotel is considered as an attractive destination on the Kem beach on the southern shore of Phu Quoc Island. Its concept was formed by the legendary (fictional) Lamarck University from the 19th century to feature the theme of Chemistry class in the bar club, and the Physical Education class in the gym. The theme does not go at the expense of luxury in the 244 rooms and villas, as all of these have a view to the sea with a private swimming pool.

Although launched only at the end of 2016, JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay has been highlighted by reputable international and regional awards, such as the World’s Leading New Luxury Resort in 2017 by World Travel Awards, and Southeast Asia’s outstanding luxury spa in 2017 for Chanterelle-Spa, also by WTA.

InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort also achieved one hundred awards from other organisations, magazines, and international tourism websites. Remarkably, the resort has broken the World Travel Awards’ (WTA) record to become the first resort named the World’s Most Luxury Resort for four consecutive years.

Reinforcing Vietnamese tourism’s attraction

The top 50 resorts of Condé Nast Travellers includes Viceroy Bali (Indonesia) which is called the “Valley of the Kings”, Viceroy Los Cabos, San José del Cabo (Mexico), and Naladhu Private Island (the Maldives). South African resorts enjoyed the highest representation with seven resorts, followed by the Maldives (five), and the US (four).

The recognition of InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort and JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay is not only a pride for Sun Group, but also a confirmation of the attractiveness of Vietnamese tourism. This reputable prize recognised the efforts of Sun Group to facilitate premium and unique tourism services, contributing to enabling Vietnam to become an impressive luxury destination on the global tourism map.
