The Minister chaired a recent working session with leaders of Dong Nai province, which the road will run through. He said eleven subprojects of the section had been approved, and three of them will be totally funded by the State budget. Meanwhile, the other eight subprojects will be funded by both the State budget and private investors under the public-private partnership (PPP) format.
Ground clearance work is planned to start this year to hand over “clean” land to investors, Mr the added. Total funding for ground clearance work is estimated at over VND 14 trillion ($600 million).
Construction for three subprojects will be kicked off this June, and international biddings will be held for the eight PPP subprojects to select investors for each one.
As planned, the Eastern section of the North-South expressway runs through 13 provinces, starting from the Northern province Nam Dinh and ending at the Southern province Vinh Long. The 654-km route is extimated to cost over VND118.7 trillion ($5.1 billion).
The expressway is a key national project to be implemented under Resolution No. 52/2017/QH14 dated November 22, 2017 by the National Assembly.
