HCMC issues compensation rules for housing on agricultural land

The Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has issued a document stating the standard land price to support housing and construction works on new agricultural land in the Southern city.

Specifically, the city government will compensate 100% of construction value for construction works, houses and architectural objects with construction permits. In case of no construction permit, the percentage of compensation is 70% of the construction value for houses, works and architectural objects built before October 15, 1993; and 50% for those built from October 15, 1993 to before July 1, 2004. No compensation and support for unlicensed construction cases from July 1, 2006 onwards.

In HCMC, there are some cases of construction of houses, structures on agricultural land that are not compensated or supported. In the process of implementing compensation, support and resettlement in some projects, especially in suburban areas such as District 9, District 2, Thu Duc District, Nha Be District, Binh Chanh District, many inadequacies and shortcomings have arisen.

Therefore, HCMC Compensation Appraisal Council has proposed the city People's Committee issue a policy to solve obstacles in favor of people whose land is recovered, to reduce complaints and speed up the progress of land acquisition for projects.

According to the document, the HCMC Compensation Appraisal Council has given specific guidance to district-level authorities to implement synchronously and uniformly in order to speed up the progress of projects under the process of compensation and land acquisition.
